Reasons Why Hamden Is The Perfect College Town

Reasons Why Hamden Is The Perfect College Town

1. Ray & Mike's
Sorry not sorry, but this place feeds my soul. Shout-out to the Philly chicken sandwich! I love you.

2. Toad's

It is only 15 minutes away from campus, and I can't wait to be reunited with the horrible lighting, loud music and sloppy guests.

3. The "Welcome Bobcats" signs put up by local liquor stores.
If that doesn't scream "college," I don't know what does.

4. Quinnipiac's neighbors.
They either love us or hate us or even love to hate us because we seriously are taking over. (Correction: after the WiGo party during May Weekend, they definitely hate us).

5. The Sleeping Giant

As basic as it is to take a photo at the top of the mountain, you have to hike it to consider yourself a student. And if you didn't Instagram it, did you really hike the mountain?

6. All Pet's Club
Where a stressed out student can find some type of joy during finals week. And who doesn't like puppies?

7. Hamden Town Hall

I have no purpose for going in there but it is pretty to look at.

8. Pretty Woman
The place for all your ratchet Toad's outfits.

9. Ixtapa
Because who can deny some great chips and margaritas?

10. Domino's
Who else do you call when you first get back to your dorm? Or even during the shuttle ride back ...

11. Droogie's
Please keep your french fries the same forever.

12. Wentworth's

OH MY ICE CREAM HEAVEN! You will always have my heart. I would walk if I had to just to get my ice cream fix.

13. Eli's
I don't even need to explain; you need to experience it for yourself.

14. Bagelicious
It will never compare to my hometown bagels (shout-out to Long Island), but it definitely will fill my craving when I am in desperate need of a good bagel. Let's not forget Whitney Doughnut, the Corner Deli, Acrop Diner, Panera, Moe's and Chipotle.

15. Insomnia Cookies
Even though they aren't in Hamden, I love Hamden for being such a short car ride away from these warm, homemade cookies late at night.

16. Tommy's Tanning
Every Quinnipiac girl probably goes here weekly. Especially during the semi and formal season for my Greek family.

17. York Hill's View

It really can't be beat. Aaaaand you don't have to hike to get there ;)
