Hello fellow ladies! My article is directed at you all once again. Although, if the men out there want to try some of these ideas as well, I 100% support that.
Halloween is coming up soon, very soon in fact. It may be too late to get costumes for this year but it’s never to early to plan ahead for next year! I got the idea to write this article because three of my best friends at college are girls and the four of us wanted to do a group costume for Halloween. Thinking of ideas wasn’t as easy as we thought it would be, but we were also surprised by how many costume ideas we just didn’t think of. If you and your girls are looking to dress up for Halloween, then here are some costume ideas to try.
Mean Girls: This is a classic movie that I’m pretty sure every girl has seen and hopefully most guys have as well. There are four of them, but I’m sure you could add characters based on the number of people in your group. The idea I had for this costume was to wear a skirt and tank top and pair it with any kind of clothing item that’s pink. Heels I would say are optional, but if not heels, then a pair of flats. The only other thing you need is some lip gloss and a purse! Make you sure you really strut when going out in this costume.
Hairspray: This is a fun idea because there are several female characters and they are all interesting. The main reason for this costume though would be the 60s dresses and hairdos! The styles of the time period are so exaggerated and exciting. Another plus to this costume is that you can walk around singing with a perfect excuse as to why. No one can bother you for screaming "Good Morning, Baltimore" at the top of your lungs.
Heathers: This one was actually my favorite costume idea. The Heathers is a funny, dark-humored film about a girl who’s just trying to fit in with her more popular friends, the Heathers. What makes the costume appealing is, once again, the aged style. There’s a lot of cool 80s themed clothing that would make this costume stand out. Who doesn’t look smokin’ in a blazer?
Lastly is the costume that my friends and I decided on, Ghostbusters: This costume is perfect because the remake of the movie just came out. While the remake in itself of such an iconic movie may annoy some, the feminist quality to the film is what makes this such a great movie for Halloween. The costumes were also great in the first film, but now that we’ve seen four women kick butt at catching ghosts, we want to do the same!
