Everyone has expectations about Halloween in college, also known as Halloweekend. You prepare yourself for a fun night ahead of you but reality kicks in when you least expect it. Like last year my costume was Kim Possible. I thought my costume was original and really cute. My friends and I go to a party, no one understood my costume and I was called Katniss a couple of times. But to top off the night there was a Kim Possible at the party with a Ron Stoppable (he had a stuffed Rufus). There was my reality, so I want to warn you.
Exception: You’ve thought of the best costume ever and know you’ll be the hottest there.
Reality: The rest of the party thought the same thing and all have the same costume.
Expectation: You’ve pinned so many Halloween decor ideas and can’t wait to get started on all your DIYS.
Reality: Everything falls apart and you have one sad pumpkin and depressing cob webs.
Expectation: You think you are going to a party that is crazy, with friends, dancing, and cool costumes.
Reality: You end up watching Hocus Pocus with your friends cause it’s negative 10 degrees outside or already snowing (New Englanders).
Expectation: Spending hours learning how to do the perfect zombie makeup on youtube then flawlessly pulling it off.
Reality: You messed up bad and can’t fix what has been done
Expectation: Ghosting/Booing your dorm and everyone getting into it
Reality: No one gets it and nobody continues it
Even though most of this is true, in the end Halloween is still one of the best weekends in college. If anything just eat the Halloween candy that you have in the dorm and Netflix and Chill with your friends.
So have a good Halloweekend no matter what you do.
