Don't get me wrong, I love my girls, but having a guy best friend is a whole different story. With girls comes so much drama, backstabbing and always being in competition with each other. Guys aren't about that life. Having a guy best friend is much more relaxing and easy going.

1. Less Drama

There's still drama, but it's usually pointless and dumb. Guys don't thrive on drama like girls do, therefore, it's much more tolerable than what girls put each other through and for that I am grateful.

2. Always a phone call away

No matter where you are at or what time it is, they always pick up. It's nice knowing you always have someone there even if you haven't talked in weeks.

3. Can talk for hours

We can talk about anything and everything until 5 a.m. Whether it's about serious life problems or just pointless stuff, we can talk for hours and never get bored.

4. Inside jokes

Oh, there are many. Some of them we don't even understand or know how we came up with them, but they put us in a better mood when life gets rough and it's something that makes up our friendship.

5. Tell you how it is

With your outfit, your life choices, your hair color, all of it. They're the most brutally honest person in your life, but it's for the best and they're almost always right so you should probably listen to them.

6. Want the best for you

When it comes to school, your career, your boyfriend, they truly want nothing but the best for you and you want the same for them. It's really what makes your friendship so pure because you're not constantly trying to one-up each other.

7. Can get food whenever

Literally whenever. It's nice because they're always down to grab a bite and catch up on life no matter what time of day it is or if they just ate.

8. Always down for an adventure

Jumping off cliffs, prank calling people at 2 a.m. or going to Cedar Point, just to name a few. They're always down for some shenanigans, especially if they're thrilling.

9. They're there to solve your boy problems

We all need a little help in the boy department every once in a while. He's always my go to when I have a question or just need some advice. After all, he is a guy so he understands the whole guy code and knows exactly what to say.

10. Pros at supporting your bad decisions

Whenever I'm questioning a really bad choice, you best bet that he's in my ear pushing me to do it and after I make the bad decisions, he's usually right there to pick up the pieces and to help me reevaluate my life.

11. Put in the effort

This is the best part. We both equally put in 110 percent. It's not a one-sided friendship or where one waits for the other to come around. We're always there for each other.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
