When it comes to the best friend department I am truly blessed to say I have some of the greatest people who are in my life, this is especially true in the guy-best-friend department.
Wait guy best friends? Yes, guy best friends.
While many haven’t wrapped their head around the middle school mentality that guys and girls can’t just be friends, I can testify that not only is it possible, but some of the greatest time-freeze moments have been with my guy best friends.
There is never any pressure to be with them. Guys are simple when it comes to friendships, when they want to do something they say it. Whether it’s a phone call or just a text to see how my day is going my guy best friends have never failed to spend quality time with me, not to mention they get straight to the point.
They are the best to talk about my “relationship” problems with, seeing they are guys themselves it makes it easy to decode what’s going on with someone I’m seining. Not to mention they can make a great shoulder to cry on when things turn south. They also love to get down and dirty, adventuring that is. From late night hikes, snowboarding trips, or just exploring new coffee shops, my guys are always down for a new adventure.
They have become my protectors while I have been away from home. They always make sure I am safe whether it’s a party or walking home from work. They always have put me first when it comes to safety.
I’m not discrediting my girlfriends because really I have been blessed with the best people in my life. But for my guy friends they really go above and beyond. Having these people in life helped me grow as an individual, seeing I was scared quite literally of being around guys when I was a small girl. Being able to find people whom I trust and take in account for my emotions is something that Is only found once in a lifetime I believe. This is truly why my best guy friends are a blessing in my life. Not only are they there to make me laugh, but they respect me as an individual.
I hope that one day I can give back half what they have given me. Whether it’s late night food runs or sitting down and just having a conversation about life. My guy friends have given me strength as an individual, protected me, and have always had my back in life trials. I get a new perspective on life and things that are going on around me, while being able to have people who are always down for new adventures. Honestly, I don’t know what I would do without these people because I love and appreciate everything they do for me. They are the best friends a girl could ask for, while still being able to put up with my awful jokes.
