Grey/Sloan has Worms?!

Press conference, Worms and Pregnant Cancer patients, oh my!

Grey/Sloan has Worms?!

After last episodes explosive plane ride, (such season 8/9 flashbacks, my anxiety was through the roof 😳) it was nice to be back in the hospital for the whole episode.

Meredith finally wants to come clean to her sister Maggie about the relationship between her and Nathan (Riggs). Unfortunately, Maggie figures it out herself as she records Meredith and Nathan at a press conference.

Maggie is understandably upset as she has feelings for Riggs but I also think she's taking it a little too far, taking Meredith's OR and really freezing her out without giving her a chance to talk about what had happened.

The first of two main medical stories in this episode was perhaps one of the grossest ones I have witnessed on the show to date: Worms! Now normally worms aren't that bad in terms of what you see on the show but the amount of worms this woman had in her body was just crazy! And the size of some of the worms was crazy, over 10 inches 😳😳 she came in with her boyfriend at the time and although she thought he was going abandon her because of all the worms in her body but he stayed with her, to her happy surprise.

The second medical story was a really sad one, it affected me more as a pregnant mother. A former patient of Alex Karev came back, a 35 week pregnant woman with cancer. She had refused her last two cancer treatments because she didn't want to hurt the baby. Unfortunately, in skipping her cancer treatments, her cancer advanced further than she realized and was now in danger. She had to have the baby delivered via C-section, so her friend Jeremy (who she is secretly in love with) can take of him and then hopefully get something done for her cancer to give her just a little more time with her son and best friend. Sadly, she signs a DNR (do not resuscitate) and does on the operating table after giving birth to her son. This story hit me particularly hard as a newly pregnant mother because there are so many thing that can happen, so many things to worry about when preparing to give birth to a baby. This is obviously a worst case scenario situation but still. It makes you hope and pray that you can not only give birth to a beautiful, healthy baby but also that you take care of yourself as well so you can survive and live a long life with your new family.

Catherine and Chief Webber finally make up in the end, which makes me so happy. They are so right for each other, they challenge each other, they are both, intelligent and gifted surgeons, and they can take care of and understand each other as only a fellow surgeon can.

I can't believe it's almost the season finale! What will I watch on Thursday nights now? 😭😭 tune in next week for the next recap of Greys!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
