Greek Show As Told By SpongeBob Squarepants
Madeline Franklin-Dean

With a wrap on my very first Greek show, I thought I'd take the opportunity to share my experience. Putting the show together with my sisters was so much fun and basically a huge roller coaster of emotions. Our theme happened to be SpongeBob Squarepants, and I've come to realize that he pretty much embodies the whole experience.

1. Showing up at your first rehearsal and seeing who all is in the show.

Time to see which sisters you'll be spending the next month or two with! Be prepared for lots of late nights, laughter, fighting, and hugs!

2. Learning the first dance.

It may take you a while to get back into the whole dancing thing... It's okay to dance like Spongebob for a little bit!

3. Finding out the theme.

SO EXCITING! From here on out all your dreams will be about characters, costumes and performing!

4. One month to go.

A month left? We got time! No worries here!

5. Two weeks to go.

Nope... Still fine. Totally fine. A beautiful mixture of stress and excitement arises!

6. GREEK SHOW WEEK.

Or, maybe it's just stress? Nope. Everything's fine... Everything's fine.

7. And rehearsing every night of Greek Show week.

Greek show week is so fun but also death. Doing school and then rehearsing every night until after midnight? Coffee in an IV please!

8. But getting food with sisters afterwards.

I don't know about you, but I leave rehearsals starving... Good thing your sorority sisters leave hungry too and they are some of the best people to eat with.

9. Falling behind on school work because of rehearsals...

Homework time ends up starting at 1 a.m..... I'll just say, after our show I heard someone say, "IT'S OVER! I WON'T HAVE STRAIGHT Cs ANYMORE!"

10. Preview time!

Time to put on your costumes and put on a show for your sisters! What's more fun and exciting?

11. Waking up on the day of the show.

IT'S HERE IT'S HERE IT'S HERE!

12. Rehearsing on stage for the first time.

The first rehearsal on stage can be a little rushed/panicky, but it's hard not to let the excitement seep through!

13. Hair and makeup time!

Glam time! Big hair, colorful eyes, bright lipsticks... Hair and makeup is one of the best parts of performing! If only it wasn't so hard to stop taking selfies...

14. Getting ready to walk in!

"I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready!"

16. Watching the other sororities and fraternities performing.

If you put aside the competition, it is so fun cheering on your panhellenic sisters (and of course all the frats...)

17. Show time!

All the work comes together and everything fades away into kind of a blur as you perform.

18. Running to your sisters after performing.

So much love, support, hugs, and cheering from your favorite people!

19. Picture time.

Strike a pose! Oh don't worry just a couple hundred more!

20. No matter the results, you leave the arena with an even stronger sense of sisterhood.

Win or lose, Greek show is such a bonding experience and if nothing else you have lots of love from your sisters! Be proud of your performance no matter what!

To my sisters - I am so proud of you all! IIKE <3

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
