More times than not, I find myself feeling very grateful that I have an older sister. Having a sister means double the accessories, always having a friend and always having someone to back you up when your mom gets mad at you.
1. You basically have two closets.
In my case, my sister and I can mainly fit into the same clothes. When I feel like I have nothing to wear, I can just walk to the next room and look in her closet... even though I may get a dirty look leaving the house with her shirt on. This applies to many different things like makeup, accessories, jewelry, and even shoes (if you're lucky).
2. There's always someone to go to Chipotle with you.
Having a sister means always having a companion. Whether it's going to get food, get your nails done or going to the mall, a sister is a perfect person to bring wherever you want to go.
3. The honesty policy.
Sisters are always honest. My sister will always tell me if what I'm wearing makes me look bad, which I'm actually thankful for (in most cases). Mom's are usually the ones to tell you that you look great (even when you know you don't), so it's nice to have someone that will be honest with you, whether it's "That actually looks good!" or "Ew, that looks awful."
5. Double the makeup.
Run out of eyeliner? Steal your sisters. Run out of mascara? Steal your sisters.
6. Having boy troubles?
An older sister is a great person to talk to about your problems. Friends are always there for you too, of course, but having a sister allows you to talk about your personal problems.
7. It's a sleepover every night.
Even though my sister is older than me, she somehow always finds herself to my room when she can't sleep. Who doesn't love sleepovers?!
8. Hand-me-downs.
For some reason, some people aren't a fan of hand-me-downs. I, on the other hand, love when my sister grows out of her clothes because they then become mine.
9. Technically, you have numerous big sisters.
I consider my sisters' friends my sisters too. They're like a second group of friends, and the ones that have stuck around for years have taught me everything I know.
10. A personal chauffeur.
Before I had my license, my older sister was my personal chauffeur... whether she liked it or not.
11. A forever friend.
