The University of Oklahoma is great for many reasons. We have a beautiful campus (by day and night), 7 National Titles, a brand new stadium and Tea Cafe is right next door! However, sometimes the university does get negative publicity and it does get hard to wear the Sooner name proudly. At the end of the day though, I can rest easy knowing that I go to the best university because....
We beat Texas.
Red River Rivalry, Texas-O.U., O.U.-Texas ... whatever you call it, it's still one of the greatest games in American college football! This year it turned 111 and was nothing but ordinary. It was the highest-scoring edition of the Red River Rivalry and # 20 Oklahoma - led by quarterback Baker Mayfield - ended up defeating Texas 45–40.
This game isn't just a game, it's a way of life. Seeing the stadium split
right down the middle with fans is something special. These teams aren't playing to have a great season, they're playing
for something more important: pride. So people can downplay The Cotton Bowl all they
want, but the truth is this game matters just a little bit more than
other games.
