With summer right around the corner, kids and parents are going to be spending an awful lot of time together. One of the best pastimes, besides playing baseball, is watching movies. People love movies, and there's something out there for everyone to enjoy. Enjoy summer and celebrate it with these three films!

3. "50 First Dates" (2004)

Ah, summer love! Can you feel it in the air as it blooms? If you love romantic comedies, then this movie is perfect for you! This movie stars Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, and it is a wonderful mix between the two genres.

"50 First Dates" is about a man named Henry Roth who is afraid of commitment. He's working in beautiful Hawaii, and he lives with no strings attached until he meets Lucy Whitmore. Lucy is a little different from most girls but the two instantly hit it off. Henry feels he's finally found the girl of his dreams until the next day when he finds out something special about Lucy — she has short-term memory loss!

"Being with you is the only way I could have a full and happy life. You're the girl of my dreams and apparently, I'm the man of yours."
-Henry Roth

Laughs are almost guaranteed with this film as Barrymore and Sandler make one of the most perfect on screen duos. After a long, hard day at work, this movie is perfect for elevating your mood. Plus it shows you that your life could always be worse!

2. "Point Break" (1991)

If you love action, crime, thrillers and drama, then this classic movie is perfect for you! "Point Break" stars Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze, and it's all about an FBI agent who goes undercover to catch a gang of surfers who might be bank robbers.

"Surfing's the source man... swear to God." - 15

This movie is perfect for summer because at its core, it's a movie about surfing. What is summer all about? Relaxing, having no worries and just enjoying the ride we call life. This movie, while being somewhat of a crime thriller, has that feeling throughout it. Plus it's exciting, even if the plot can be a little out there at times!

1. "The Sandlot" (1993)

The last and best summer movie is "The Sandlot." This classic film is set in the summer of 1962, and it's about a new kid coming to town and getting into all sorts of adventures with his new friends and baseball team.

“Remember kid, there’s heroes and there’s legends. Heroes get remembered but legends never die, follow your heart kid, and you’ll never go wrong.”
-The Babe

This movie is doubly as good because it's about summer — and baseball! The two go hand in hand, and it provides two things most of us can relate to which makes it fun to watch, especially with the family. "The Sandlot" will always be a film that never get old. It simply gets better and better each time everyone sits down to watch it.

Looking for something fun to watch? Try sitting down and enjoying these films with the family. Summer is about enjoying yourself and these movies do not disappoint.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
