This one's for all my fellow coffee-shop lovers out there. This one's for the folks who like to go somewhere other than Starbucks every now and then. This one's for anyone who's tired of driving to Atlanta just to pay $7 for a small iced coffee in a nice atmosphere. I've compiled a list of my favorite coffee shops North of Atlanta, and yes, I am your coffee angel.

1. Mocha Moe's Coffeehouse (& More)

Good coffee. Vintage style couches. Live music. Italian soda. Tons of seating options. Need I say more? This coffeehouse in Flowery Branch, Georgia is a total dream for lunchtime meetings, study dates or just for the hangs.

2. Midland Station Coffee & Sandwich Shop

If there's one thing I love about Gainesville, Georgia, it's downtown. (I'm a sucker for exposed brick). The folks over at Midland Station Coffee really embrace the downtown vibes. They have live music by local talent, and the whole place is full of natural light, which makes for a productive working environment. There's tons of seating, which means you can bring your whole crew with you when you try out their pour-over or nitro coffee, and I highly recommend that you do.

3. Cream and Shuga Coffee

This unexpected find is located in downtown Jefferson, Georgia, my hometown, and what I commonly refer to as "Nowhereville." However, this shop is far from bland, as it functions in what used to be a jail. You can order your coffee and take it to a cozy, somewhat private, renovated cell to enjoy it, or opt for their beautifully wood-paneled room for a little more space. The food is nothing to skip out on either. Their sandwich called "the Maverick" features grilled chicken, melted cheese and a big piece of spiced and candied bacon. If that doesn't convince you, head back to Starbucks.

4. Higher Grounds Coffee House

This one gives off major living-room vibes, in the best kind of way. It's cozy, and if the comfy factor wasn't enough, it has a huge balcony you can opt for on a sweet summer morning. Their food and coffee choices are a simple kind of perfection, and the customer service is always exceptional.

5. Inman Perk

Another one in Gainesville, Georgia, this place is a true gem. In addition to good coffee, they've got ice cream and a killer pastry case. You'll love the atmosphere and the baristas alike. Browse some local art while you sip your coffee or tea, and when you're done, step right out the front door into the downtown area for some unique shops and historic buildings.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
