THANKSGIVING. The word itself just gives me jitters. Being home with family and friends, eating the best home-cooked meal, and getting into the holiday vibes makes me so excited. With only a week until Thanksgiving break, I thought I would describe my excitement through the words of a classic: Clueless.
1. Leaving campus to go home for the holiday
Trust me, I'm ready. After a week full of midterms, multiple essays, and a lack of sleep, I'm sooooo outty.
2. When you try to drive for the first time since you left for school
Seriously, clear the roads. It's going to take me some time to remember how to drive again.
3. Calories on Thanksgiving?
Calories don't count on Thanksgiving, that's just a given. I've been eating dining hall food for the past three months; I deserve a feast.
4. When your family looks at your pictures from college
Halloween costumes. That's all I have to say. Sorry.
5. Seeing your best friend for the first time
I will be hopping off the plane, kissing my family (and dogs) hello, and running to my car to go give my best friends the BIGGEST hugs in the world.
6. and you're SOOOOO back
Catching up? No need. We've been doing that on the daily.
7. Hanging out with all of your high school friends
College is fun, but I am sooooooo in the mood for some high school vibes.
8. Sharing all of your stories from college so far
The stories will probably be extremely exaggerated and at least 25% false, but I can't wait to hear them.
9. When someone tries to talk dirt on your school
Yes, Greek social life is suspended at Michigan. Yes, Michigan is still better than everywhere else.
10. Coming back to school like
I know Black Friday is really not a thing anymore (Cyber Monday has taken over) but I will still be at the mall at 6 a.m. just for the fun of it.
Thanksgiving, I can't wait to see you. When it's time to come back to school, am I going to be ready? As Cher would say, "as if!"
