The title may seem odd at first because there are various answers people can give to answer this question. Most people say: Well, I am a successful business man/woman or was a Valedictorian at my college's graduation. These are all nice and good, but let's look at who you are in Christ. Maybe this short story will help.
When I was going home for Thanksgiving to visit my uncle and his wife in Texas, I sat on the window seat on the Tri-Cities to Atlanta flight. As the plane took off and reached its cruising altitude of 2000 feet, I gazed out the window and saw the beauty of the cities at night. The amazing sights reminded me of the bible verse Psalm 42:1-2 : "As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.My soul thirsts for God, for the living God."
When I looked at the cities below me from a deeper perspective, I started to see some areas that didn't have light in them and some that did. The dark areas represented people who are living in the dark without Christ and the areas with light represented to me people who do have Christ in their lives. As the flight continued, it became even more clear to me why we should make Christ the center of their lives because with him there is life, not just any life, but everlasting life. A life that is full of divine joy and divine freedom, a life like no other.
As the plane started its descent to Atlanta, the view outside changed. It now showed more areas of light and fewer areas of dark. Which meant that more people have found Christ than any other time before and the rest of people who are living in some of those dark areas will soon be the light with Christ.
So the next time someone asks you who you are, tell them Psalm 139:14 " I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well". Say that you identify yourself with Christ, not the things of this world, and that your destiny is in the hands of God.
