I have always been told that God gives His toughest battles to His strongest soldiers. But why does it seem like some people are constantly fighting battles? Sometimes I feel like life is just one hard event after another. You may also feel like you are constantly being tested in your life with various trials. God’s plans are not always clear. You wonder, where is God during all of this? He hasn’t abandoned you. Stay strong in your faith, for God will guide you through your darkest of times.
Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
After a while, you may start to become discouraged. Why does it seem like nothing ever goes right? Battle after battle is given to you, and it just doesn't seem fair. What have I done to deserve something like this? It is easy to get into a negative mindset, starting to believe that God might have something against you. But He doesn’t, He loves you always.
While your plan for the “perfect” life is ideal, God’s plan for your life is incredible. It will far exceed anything you have ever dreamt for yourself. Yes, you might be envious of someone’s “perfect” life, everyone feels this at one time or another. Why do they seem to have it easy, and I have to go through these battles? Little do you know what happens behind closed doors for this "perfect person", and what battles they may be fighting on a daily basis. God is working through them in different ways than he is working through you.
“God’s plan for your life extends far beyond your mind’s creativity level." -Rachel Wojnarowski.
God is preparing you for something great. Yeah, I sure would like to know what it is too. Wouldn’t that make things easier? To be able to read your life story and know exactly what to do before it happens. Sometimes I wonder, what’s the point of all this anyway?
I’m guilty of allowing my worries to cloud my faith, they often get in the way. Where it can be easy to sit and worry, it is more efficient to pray about your worries. It might not seem like God is with you while you are going through your darkest battles, but have faith, He is with you all the way.
“For this God is our God forever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.” Psalms. 48:14.
You have a God, not a genie.
Your wishes won’t take you anywhere, but your prayers will.
It can be hard to pray sometimes, trust me, I have been there. You feel so overcome with worry that it can cloud your faith, weakening it, pulling your further from Christ.
You may not know where to start with your prayer, and it can be overwhelming. Am I doing it right? Is he getting all of this?
Of course He is, things won't just change over night. Everything happens according to God’s plan, and His plan for your life will have a different timing than His plan for someone else’s.
“Our prayers may be awkward. Our attempts may be feeble. But since the power of prayer is in the One who hears it and not in the one who says it, our prayers do make difference.” - Max Lucado.
Every battle we have faced has helped form us into the person we are today. Without them, we would have not had an experience to mature or grow from the tough situations. It may suck at the time, but you are being prepared for something greater than you could ever imagine, by the one who created it all.
