With all that is going on in the world, people seem to forget the greater meaning of life. Instead of some living theirs, they take others. Instead of some being the bigger person, they fall apart and do things they thought they'd NEVER do all due to an uproar over a life lost. While losing a life is terrible, no citizen should use "an eye for an eye" as their way of "justice". In 2010, there were 2.2 billion Christians with a projected rise of 2.92 billion. That is not hundreds, thousands, or millions, that's BILLIONS. Those billions of people believe in someone greater than those here on earth and believe they will one day live in peace and happiness. God, is almighty and better than ALL. Our country was founded upon God, for example, The penny and our dollar bills have the saying "In God we trust" on them and even our constitution states in Article VII , "done in Convention … the Seventeenth Day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven and of the Independence of the United States of America."
While part of our world has turned their eyes away from God, everyone needs him. Even if you don't believe in him, what is said about him gives people hope and hope carries people very far. So, here are 5 (out of hundreds) of my favorite bible verses that everyone should live by everyday. I challenge each of you that's reads this to choose your favorite bible verses and read them out loud, write them down, or even paint them on a canvas to put in your home.
- Rom 12:2: "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."
This verse is perfect for the events going on in our world today. "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world" do not kill because others were killed. Your loved ones are in a better place now and while they went in one of the worst ways, do not seek revenge for God will handle it in time. Just be patient.
2. John 10:10: "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."
Ah, the Devil. He once was an angel who apparently became so impressed with his own beauty, intelligence, power, and position that he began to desire for himself the honor and glory that belonged to God alone. Does this not sound like our world? He only comes to steal, kill, and destroy - and by killing another human we are helping him.
3. John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
One of the most recognized bible verses in the world is John 3:16. Those who chose to believe understand that God gave his own child for our corrupt world. God gave us a second chance. We should not take advantage of that.
4. Jer 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
"Plans to prosper you and not to harm you." How much better can that get? He promises you prosperity and a future all for you just to believe in him and trust him.
5. Josh 1:9: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
He will be with you in everything you do, in everyplace you walk into, and every person you meet. He will bring bad people in your life but he will also take them out, he will bring joy and happiness to you if you let him. He will give you that sign you've been begging him for. You cannot feel or see him physically, but you can feel him mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. While not all Americans believe in him, those who do, need to take him and his teachings in full force. All it takes is one spark to start a fire, and that one Christian could save our world from destruction.
