God Knows What You Need Before You Ask Him

He knows exactly what you need at that exact time and will help you in every way possible.

I have been doing a lot of reflecting lately on how much I ask of God. We all spend so much of our time asking God for things that we want. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but he actually already knows our desires.

Someone once told me that when we are praying to God, it is okay to tell him exactly what is on our mind and what we want. However, at the end of each prayer we need to remind ourselves that if it is his will, it will happen. This is something that I still struggle with, but the constant reminder is so helpful.

What is so great about our God is how he wants to learn more about us. He wants us to open up to him and share our deepest fears and desires. He loves us no matter what, which means we don't have to try so hard to please him. He knows what is best for us and will push us in the right direction.

I haven't always felt this way and have gotten mad at God for not giving me what I want. It's hard sometimes because we think we know what is best for us, but we really don't. Our world is broken and is full of sin. We all sit here and wonder why so many bad things happen in the world, and this is a valid thought. However, there has to be something greater than all of this, and that is God.

So before you ask God for something when you are praying, just remember that he already knows. It is almost like he is looking down on us and smiling because of the greater plans he has for us. How lucky are we to have a God who is so loving? It's honestly amazing, considering how much sin we all have.

As Matthew 19:26 says, "But Jesus looked at them and said to them 'With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'" This again just confirms that we need God in order to do things. We need to realize that God is going to be here for us whenever we are feeling down.

God works in mysterious ways, and if something really is meant to be, it will be. We just have to have faith in our Lord, and everything will work out. Never be afraid to talk to God about how you are truly feeling. He knows exactly what you need at that exact time and will help you in every way possible.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
