College, regardless of your year, is overwhelming. It pushes you to your limits and sometimes out of your comfort zone. For me, when I started college last year, I was pushed past my limits and shoved out of my comfort zone and I loved every single minute of it but I very innocently, without realizing it, became lazy with my faith. I became very focused on going out and making new friends and never saying no, which was okay but I slowly began to make God a priority less and less, which wasn't okay. While even though it was very little things like forgetting to say my prayers before I went to sleep or not making an effort to go to church on Sundays; I became absent minded to things that I had always been diligent about doing and forgetting things that I was raised to remember and do. Now, don't get me wrong, I didn't go off the deep end and start doing drugs and failing out of college, but I began to look in the mirror and not realize who was looking back at me. I was a girl that prioritized going out every chance I got rather than remembering that I am at college to find myself, to get a good education, and be the best version of me. I very naievely, without realizing it, forgot that I am here to glorify Jesus Christ. And unfortunately, it was too easy to do.
It was too easy to become lazy and chalk it up to the fact that I had been busy and that studying for Biology took all week. It was easier than you would ever imagine. But I'm here to tell you, that Jesus loves you, and me, and He is always worth your time. And in the end, it won't matter if you were wearing Lilly or what sorority you were in or whether or not you made it to that party with the football players, it only matters that you gave your life to Jesus. And trust me, I know, it is hard to remember these things and we get caught up and we worry and we stress, but at the same time, we have to remember, we are so loved. More than we will ever know.
So remember when life is hard and that boy you would've sworn you were going to marry breaks up with you or you fail that test you studied all night for, that you have a savior. Remember when everything is going right and you rock that job interview or you find the best dress to wear to formal, that you have a savior.
God is good all the time and all the time God is good. Even in college.
