We live in a world where social media is everything. It's where we get our news, gossip, and entertainment, but it is also a place where we have to keep up our image.
In many Instagram and Twitter bios you may see a bible verse, quote from a Christian song, or just simply the name we gather around, "Jesus", but typing these few words for your followers to see is not enough. Yes, it is a great thing to do, but it is not what makes us a Christian. We have to do more. We have to make living for Jesus a lifestyle.
"For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ." (Galatians 1:10)
God calls us to live for Him, not to keep up our social media image. We have to go out and have meaningful conversations with people to share Jesus with others. We are too consumed by social media to look up from our phones and tell people about the name that sits in our social media bios. Go out and talk to that person at the lunch table who is sitting alone. Smile at the person who looks like they are having a bad day. Spread the word of God. Walk with Jesus. Be an ambassador for Christ.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." (2 Corinthians 5:17)
