How I Perceive My Friends:

My group of friends contains five individuals (counting myself) and there has never been a day that I wanted to ditch them anyone else or another group of individuals. Some people may not like my friends, but to me they are everything. They are the individuals who say with you while you cry and will make you forget about all the bad in your life. They are the individuals who will pick you up when you’re weak, and will stand with you in any decision I make. These are the individuals that mean the world to me, and they make walking around in this life an adventure full of memories to be made.

Ashlyn

When I think of Ashlyn, I think of all the crazy adventures we have had, and I think about the first time we met as roommate’s freshman year. I am constantly grateful that my freshman roommate is still my roommate, and that we have developed this friendship that has become more of a sisterhood. I see Ashlyn as the complete package of what a friend should be--she is hilarious, intelligent and can accomplish anything she has ever dreamed of doing. In ten years I will look back and say that was my college roommate and my best friend 'til the day I die.

Rosanna

When I think about Rosie, I think of how are friendship really begun and how far we have come in the year that we have known each other. There is nothing off-limits when talking to Rosie. She puts everything she has in her friends, family and faith. I am constantly proud of her, and I know she will be an amazing doctor. In the year that Rosie and I have been friends, we have shared the majority of our time laughing and looking at the good of every situation. I know that when I am old and sick she will be there continuing to make me laugh, and supporting me in any decisions I had made in my youth.

Laura

As I think of Laura, I think of her undying strength and i often hope that some of it will rub off on me. Laura is one of the strongest people that I have ever met, and faces everyday with the support of; her faith and friends. Laura is the individual who I go to when I think of a problem and need some advice on how I should deal with it. She is also the individual I go to when I just want to talk about anything. She has always made time to listen and support me in any decision I have made. I know that in a time of need, Laura would be there without any questions, and I would be grateful that I met an individual so compassionate and strong willed as she is.

Meenah

Meenah is my newest friend and is also one of my littles. She came into are friendship this year as our flat mate. Meenah is the one that would do anything for her friends. She decides all of her time and effort into making us happy and filling the flat with laughter. Meenah is the perfect fit into a small group of friends. We were nervous upon her arrival because we really didn’t know her, but we are thankful she came into our lives. I am so proud to be able to call Meenah my little, and I am excited to see our friendship grow over the course of our lives.

These are the individuals that make my cloudy day bright again, and I hope to continue to make their lives as bright as they make mine.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
