Canada is a great place to tour and sightsee. As I noted in my previous article, A Glance At Canada's Natural Attractions Pt. 1, Canada boasts many magnificent mountains, clear blue lakes, huge forests, and fast flowing rivers. In the six days that I spent in the country, I have seen how beautiful Canada's natural landscapes are and it is no wonder that visitors from all over the world travel to see them.
Since Canada is such a popular tourist spot, there are many advertised activities for people to do. As such, this makes Canada an ideal place to visit for families traveling with small children. While I wish I had the time and budget to kayak, whale-watch, sea plane, and do all of the other tour services offered, I still had a lot of fun with the things I did, and the places I saw.
For example, Canada is well known for its mountains, but you don't have to just sit and look at them through your car window. You can go up some of them! For example, one option for visitors is to take the Banff Gondola up Canada's Sulphur Mountain. Located in Banff National Park, the Banff Gondola will take you up 698 m to an elevation of 2,281 metres. The ride takes only approximately eight minutes, but the view you get of the mountain and the landscape as the gondola takes you up, is quite amazing.
Even if you are indifferent to Canada's mountains, you can still have a good time with family and friends in its national parks. Along with Canada’s geographical landscapes, are its unique towns and interesting cities. Tourist towns lie nearby to most of Canada's notable national parks and lakes, giving visitors the opportunity to walk along busy streets and explore unique and novel stores. Canada's towns and cities are marked by hubs of artisan talent and distinct features that reflect the country’s young history, geographical location, and culture. Above, is an image of Banff town where popular tourist items and goods are sold including Canada's well-known maple syrup, kettle corn, ice cream, candied snacks, and souvenirs.
Some of Canada's most well known sites and towns can also be found in the country's many islands. Tourists drive their cars onto ferries that then transfer them to these islands. During my stay in Canada, I traveled to Victoria Island, where we visited The Butchart Gardens.
I enjoyed every minute I spent in those gardens. There could not be enough digital memory in the world to capture the actual experience of being surrounded by an endless number of flowers, listening to the sound of buzzing insects and chirping birds. The Butchart Gardens are filled with the most beautiful and diverse flowers you might ever see in your life. Flowers of all shapes, sizes, and colors line the stone path with man-made pools and fountains dispersed throughout the gardens.
A walk through the Butchart Gardens takes about an hour and half. It is the perfect place to spend time with family and friends. Leisurely walk through the gardens with the family pet, and you will find that your dog will enjoy the experience as well.
For those who are interested in visiting Canada one day, I hope my recommendations are useful or helpful in some way. I definitely enjoyed the time I spent in Canada, and would go again with friends. There is still so much left to look at and experience, and many more notable places to visit not listed in this article, but I must bid Canada an "au revoir" for now.
