There's always that girl who everyone knows as silly and lackadaisical. She has no care in the world, she looks like she has her shit together, and has the most contagious smile and laugh you have ever come across. Everybody seems to enjoy being around her because of her radiant positivity. No one leaves an encounter with this girl feeling down, even if they were having a horrible day. What most people see on the surface, however, is a whole different story from what's going on underneath. Here are five things you don't know about the girl with the contagious smile.

She's fighting her own battles, too.

Whether it's boyfriend troubles or family issues, she is going through a personal war just like the rest of us. However, she sets her own issues aside to cater to those around her. She knows people depend on her light to shine through even when she is feeling down. So instead of wallowing in her sorrow, she just grins and bears it.

She's stronger than you know.

Everyone looks at the happiest girls as if their lives are perfect. People assume that these girls always wake up on the right side of the bed and the odds are always in their favor. Surprisingly enough, that is not the case. The happiest girls probably deal with the most bullshit. The difference between her and the rest of the world is that she rises above it instead of letting it weigh her down. So instead of assuming that her load is light making her happy, consider that maybe her load is heavy but she's strong enough to carry it with grace.

She has insecurities.

No one is perfect and we all know it. We can spend hours each day staring in the mirror at our acne, hyperpigmentation, belly rolls, and everything else that's "wrong" with our bodies. Girls with contagious smiles are just the same. They're not always having a good hair day or confident that their boyfriend loves them. They are just as insecure as the rest of us but nobody knows it.

She needs you just as much as you need her.

Having someone around who is always happy is the best thing ever. People literally search their entire lives to find someone as genuinely nice and happy as the girl with the contagious smile. When they find her, they do everything in their power to never let her go. But have you ever thought about how she's also never letting you go? Yeah, you may cry and complain about the most insignificant things but she likes that about you. You say all of the things she wishes that she could say without fear of tarnishing her "happy" persona.

She's human, too.

Girls with contagious smiles are perceived to be superhuman. It's almost as if the happiness they exude erases the notion of her having other emotions out of people's minds. Because of this, we often forget to ask her how her day is going or if she's really okay. We just assume she's feeling great and she's having the best day ever when she may not be. She cries like everyone else. She worries like everyone else does. She has days where she hates the world like everyone else and we shouldn't forget that. So let's stop putting her on an impossibly high pedestal and actually appreciate the girl behind the contagious smile.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
