You're not ready for another relationship, I don't blame you. I know it hurt. It will get better. It's okay to be not okay. You're human, feelings are only natural. You were hurt by someone you thought highly of, someone that you valued.
Your life gives you so many reasons to push people out of it, but that's what happens when you get hurt. Let me tell you why. You're too busy now trying to find yourself, better yourself. You're too busy building who you are. Your life goals and career drive you to become a better individual. I know everyone around might be getting engaged, married or having kids. That might not be who you are now. That's okay! You thought you found that one special person but you continued to waste time on someone who practically would never commit to you, but now you've accepted that. Sometimes in life people are meant to be but they meet one another at different times of their life and it just doesn't work out. It's a shame.
For now, you just have to do what you want to do. Do things that make you happy, make you smile, and most of all make you laugh. Even if that means silly pointless weekend getaways to places you have never been before. Gaining your independence and becoming adventurous is one of the biggest and scariest tasks humans can do. We need to know how to rely on ourselves and not on others. We need to go out and see the world for ourselves. That's what you're attempting to do here. Don't let anyone ever tell you that you can't do something. You can do whatever you want without the help of another. Though if you ever do need help don't be afraid to ask. It's never a sign of weakness, its strength.
You need to be happy with yourself before you make the attempt at making someone else happy. Remember that!
