The Grammy Awards are just days away, and for someone that loves music, I am very excited. This past week, the Grammy Association released a girl empowerment commercial based on Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech last year at the Grammys when she won album of the year. I have watched this video many times, and each time I watch it, it gives me pride in being a girl. It gives me hope that the next generation of girls are going to be confident, wise, and determined. It also inspires me to chase my dreams and never settle for anything less than perfect. I remember watching Taylor’s speech last year. It inspired me, and I hope it inspires many to come.
"I want to say to all the young women out there: There are going to be people along the way who try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame. But if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday, when you get where you’re going, you will look around and you will know — it was you, and the people who love you, who put you there. And that will be the greatest feeling in the world."
