People will always have a reason to complain. Most complain about their jobs, the people they may or may not associate with, and the amount of work and responsibility that they have. However, one thing that I have noticed lately is that everyone seems to be jumping on the gun to bash millennials. The funny part about that is that it includes millennials themselves! How is it that we have a generation that is supposed to be our future be so disliked by almost everyone? How is it that we as a generation seem to be repeatedly failing our older generations. Are we as lazy as they say we are?

I was born on December 31, 1994. I am a millennial, I have three jobs, and I go to school full time. Every day of my life I am always reminded by social media and by people that I encounter that I am not working hard enough. When I graduate college in 2018, I will graduate with a bachelor of arts many say that my degree will be worthless and a waste of thousands of dollars I clearly do not have. I will start at a low paying job, starting off my adult life thousands of dollars in debt, and will be accumulating more as I further my education. Since my bachelor's degree is so useless I will need to further my education all that I can. I will likely continue to have multiple jobs while continuing my education. I am going to struggle like hell. I'm struggling now, but that has never stopped me from working hard. There are thousands and thousands of students that are in the same boat as me. The laziest generation is working two or more jobs just to pay for a costly education that does not come with the promise of a career. The laziest generation will struggle with debt for years because the cost of education goes up every year. The laziest generation, Generation Y, Millennials; we are not doing well right now. Not financially, not emotionally. We are struggling.

The United States is falling apart, rapidly. We are the next generation that has to live and deal with this matter. There are so many things happening right now between terrorist attacks, hate crimes, and the 2016 election. Now that my generation is getting older, we are becoming more understanding of the circumstances we are dealt. We are knowledgeable on politics, we are watching the news and mourning the lives that are senselessly lost, and most importantly we are trying to be actively involved in the changes we would like to see in the world. Millennials are trying, but that does not seem to be enough. We are silenced in our political opinions because we are "dumb college kids that want free stuff" or that we should not be concerned about the inequality that still presides in our beautiful country; home of the somewhat free and the brave.

I saw an Internet meme the other day bashing our generation for playing Pokémon Go while our nation is dying and I didn't know how to feel about it. If we voice our opinions on what is happening in the U.S., we are wrong. If we play Pokémon Go so that we may have just one solid moment of peace where we can go outside and interact with our friends and even make new ones on the way we are the blame for what happens next to our country. We can't be progressive, vocal, or have fun for that matter. We are the generation that fails, the generation that is always wrong.

When will we be right for you?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
