This one's for all my single ladies out there! Who needs a lover when you have the best gal-pals around?

1. Throw a Galentine's Day party!

Valentine's day is all about love, but that doesn't have to mean romantic love! It's a great opportunity to celebrate all the relationships in your life. So grab all your girlfriends and decorate your house in red and pink! Get cute little heart shaped treats (in my experience, a heart-shaped pizza is usually a hit) and spend quality time with the gals! Play cute board games, get wine drunk, and watch sappy romantic movies with some great women in your life!! Instead of dwelling on the fact that you're not in a romantic relationship, choose to celebrate yourself, and your friends!

2. Go see a movie

There is absolutely nothing better than going to the movies, especially in February. If you are a romantic comedy movie lover like myself, then seeing a movie on Valentine's day is possibly the best thing that could happen to you. Movies that are coming out this Valentines day include: "Then Came You" ( a love story about a girl with a terminal illness, so bring the tissues friends), "What Men Want" (a hilarious movie about a woman who can read men's minds. Must be nice right?), and "Isn't It Romantic" ( a movie where a woman falls, hits her head, and realizes her reality has been changed into a rom-com movie).

3. Go To The Clurrrbbbbbbb

There is so much enjoyment in letting loose and going out with your friends! Forget your responsibilities for a night and celebrate your life!

4. Put your sweats on, get a book, and order a pizza

OK not to be biased...but I'm going to be biased. This is my absolute favorite thing to do on valentines day and is beginning to become a routine for me. I started this my freshman year of high school when I thought it was a good idea to read "The Fault In Our Stars" in one night. My mom respected my decision and ordered me a pizza that I quickly brought upstairs to my sanctuary. It took me a good five hours, but I finished the entirety of the book and pizza, with tears streaming down my face. It's an emotional experience to do alone, that is why I have now invited my friends to join me! It's nice to have people to wheezily cry with, and probably better for my well being to have someone to split a pizza instead of scarfing it down by myself.

5. Self-Care Day!

Life can be stressful. Sometimes so much we forget the joy of living it! Take this day for you and your friends to do good things for your mental health. Go to the gym and do some yoga! This is a great tool for relaxing the body and mind, while still working out your muscles! After that, grab a nice healthy meal, go outside for a bit if it's nice, and treat you and your friends to a spa day! Massage those muscles girl!! Get that facial! YES, MAM! We stan a with-it queen.

6. TREAT YO' SELF

Not only is this the best episode on Parks and Rec, but it is so fun to do. Even if you don't necessarily have the funds for this activity, you can still "treat yourself" in other ways! For example, If you have a strict diet, maybe be less strict on Valentine's day. But, if you can spare a small fortune, then go SHOPPING with your friends of course! Get some cutesy outfits and accessories that make you feel great!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
