The first week of college life is filled with constant hellos with new friendships that begin to form. A great part about being a freshman is that everyone is looking to meet new people. At first it can be difficult to talk to strangers, but eventually you will realize that everyone is trying to make new friends.
3. Roommates
You find out a lot about people by rooming with them. Sharing a small living space with someone can be tough at times, but this person will be your rock. They play an important part in your freshman experience. And, they also make your wardrobe a little bigger.
4. Dorm rooms
Living on campus was so convenient my freshman year. You will be able to wake up 15 minutes before class and still make it with time to spare. But, the best part about living in the dorm was being so close to friends. Living down the hallway from your besties can make for random dorm room shenanigans that will have your RAs documenting you constantly.
5. Campus Food
The meal plan that comes with living on campus. Free food prepared for you that is conveniently located to make it easy to grab something on the way to class. Although sometimes it isn't the best, you will make it work to save some extra cash.
6. Big Classes
In high school, its easy to know every person in your classroom. Coming into college, this changes. The first day can be a little awkward, but it is for everyone. Try sitting next to a friendly face.
7. Frat Parties
Oh the fun you will have at your first fraternity party. These house parties will lead to late nights, new friends, and lots of whoop juice.
8. Sorority Recruitment
The ultimate way of meeting different girls at your university. Joining a greek organization can help you gain friends that will last a lifetime. If you decide to going through recruitment, you can guarantee your freshman year will be changed for the better.
9. Football Games
You may have already gone to a few of your universities football games, but might not have experienced the student section yet. Tailgating with all your friends and sitting in the student section with a hundred other screaming fans can make for some of the best memories.
10. Sickness
The absolute worst thing to happen while away from home. Its so hard to not have your mom there to take care of you when you aren't feeling your best. Hopefully your roommate is nice enough to help you out a little. And if you're lucky, she'll even make you some soup.
11. Being broke
There will come a time when you check your bank account and only have $1.52. The struggle is real and sometimes you just gotta say no to some things. This is when you resort to cafeteria food and Ramen noodles.
12. Jobs
This tends to happen when you don't want to say no to going out to eat for the fourth night in a row. Starting a job while in college will be a lot to manage, but the extra cash is usually worth it.
13. Spring Break
Yes, I know that you have a spring break in high school, but I can promise you that any college spring break will put your high school week to shame. This week is planned several months ahead of time to ensure your group gets the perfect house that's a close enough walk to the beach, and your favorite fraternity's SB house. Destin is the place to be this week.
14. Finals Week
The most dreaded week of the entire year. During this week you will have at least 4 finals, 2 revision essays, and long, sleepless nights in the library. Grab a Red Bull, and a good seat in the library, and you're on your way to success.
