My Future Roommates Are My Best Friends, And We Don't Even Live Together Yet
Emma Stinnette

My froomies (future roomies) are truly amazing people. And I'm so thankful that I didn't have to go hunting on Facebook to find them. First of all, that's too much work. Secondly, I am a skeptic.

Conveniently, the person that I was supposed to live with originally had backed out, and that's how I was lead to this amazing group of ladies. You may be asking, what makes them so amazing? Well, other than the fact that they are not complete strangers, they each have such amazing qualities about them.

I have known the first froomie since middle school. That's right. Middle school. Somehow, she's seen me at that stage in life and we've made it through. I had no idea that we were going to be at the same college until a month before it happened! She's become one of my closest friends, and it's truly amazing because we've got a wild history and we have both grown up in the same small town.

1. Froomie Number One

The second and third froomies I have only known for a little bit.

Somehow, I have zero pictures that have all of us in them.

2. Froomie Number Two

The second froomie was truly sent from God. She helped me so much in going through a major change in my life, and she was literally such a rock through it all. I couldn't be more grateful for her constant wisdom and support.

3. Froomie Number Three

The third and final froomie is a ray of sunshine, who never takes life too seriously - whatever it may throw at her. I love her enthusiasm for life and the way that she handles herself. I'm so excited to get to know both of them even more (and hopefully take lots of pictures).

I feel like I can tell these wonderful ladies anything and everything going on in my life, and they're the first people that I turn to when I go shopping at target and spend too much money, or if I'm struggling with something personal.

Our roommate group chat has constantly been filled with love and support, with any and every cause that is brought up. We've been able to all share things happening in our lives and to walk in this journey of life together, all while we figure out what kitchen utensils to bring.

Sophomore year, I'm ready for you. There's nothing that I can't accomplish because I'm beyond blessed to have the best group of ladies standing right next to me throughout the entire thing.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
