Young, big, old, small; either way your furry friends are forever in your hearts and we should appreciate all they do for us humans.

Constant Companionship & Loyalty

Dogs are descendants of wolves, who we all know travel in packs. But now that dogs are domesticated, their designated "human" is now their pack, so having a constant companion by your side is the norm. They didn't get the nickname "Mans' best friend," for nothing.

Unconditional Love

No matter how bad your day was, they'll always be there with their energetic and happy demeanors to cheer you up immediately with one wag of their tails.

Furry Therapists

Dogs aren't going to tell anyone your deepest, darkest secrets, so why not confide in these puppy dog eyes?

Keeps You Moving

Dogs keep you incredibly more active than cats (dogs for the win). From short walks around the neighborhood to playing fetch in the park, or even just tug-of-war in the living room, dogs constantly keep you on your toes and moving.

Reduces Stress

There's a reason people keep Emotional Support animals, it's because it's proven that in some circumstances animals (not just dogs) can reduce stress, anxiety, etc.

Protectiveness

Burglars are less likely to break into a home if they hear a dog barking. Plus, dogs have heightened senses of hearing and smelling, so they know when something could potentially happen before you do.

Socialism

Protip #1: If you're looking to find a human companion, take your furry companion out for a stroll around your neighborhood, school, park, or mainstreet and you'll find some potential parents for your furry friend too ;-) You'd be surprised how many more people you'll meet just because you're walking a friendly dog.

Responsibility

Having an animals teaches responsbility, time management, and prioritizing. Having a dog entails feeding it. You are responsible for making sure another living thing survives. They can't get their food on their own like we can, perks of having opposable thumbs I guess.

Boosts Your Mood

Please tell me one instance where you were either cuddling or petting a dog when you were upset, angry, or sad... *crickets* Yes, that's what I thought, even just seeing a dog can change your day.

If you're looking for any of these attributes from a cute, loving furry companion, I highly suggest you go to your nearest Humane Society or dog shelter to find yourself a furrever pal. #AdoptDontShop You never know who could rescue who.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
