Everyone knows that Friends is a classic television show. It has stood the test of time and was beloved by young adults of the 1990's and 2000's alike. Friends is a hilarious and light-hearted sitcom that follows the trials and tribulations of a gang of brother and sister and their four best friends in their twenties and thirties. Although everyone knows that Friends is always good for a laugh, if you watch closely enough, the antics of the whole group can instill a healthy dose of optimism and comfort in any college student or teenager.

1. They're in their twenties and they still goof around

As a college student, it's easy to think that our days of tomfoolery may be drawing to a close. Watching friends shows me that I can be in my twenties and still have a good decade of goofing around ahead of me.

2. They all find their lobsters

As Phoebe explains, lobsters mate for life! After watching all of their dating trials and tribulations over the course of the show, it is reassuring to see all of the characters of Friends find their true loves by the time the show ends.

3. They all have jobs

Thinking about graduating and finding an adult job is stressful for most college students. It is very comforting to see the whole Friends gang find legitimate jobs without too much struggle. (Except maybe Joey).

4. They live in great apartments

One of the most exciting prospects of adulthood is surely having a cute and comfy apartment. Seeing the adorable cribs of the whole gang is very inspiring.

5. They manage all of their responsibilities

Bantering with each other in their apartments, in Central Perk, and other general shenanigans takes up most of the gang's days. However, they all somehow still manage to fulfill all of their responsibilities. It's quite reassuring.

6. They survive in a big city

Living in the heart of New York City, you would think that the gang would have some trouble navigating, traveling, or staying safe. Somehow, they all live in NYC with ease. It is comforting to know that if the gang can have no trouble surviving in a big city, I probably can too.

7. They have fun without partying too hard

Although college is endlessly fun, partying every night is a hard lifestyle to sustain. It is great to know that it is possible to have just as much fun without the hangovers.

8. They're happy without being rich

As a college student, it is easy to get focused on making as much money as possible in the future. None of the Friends gang are the next Bill Gates and they still seem to enjoy life to the fullest extent.

9. They still look hot at 30

It's easy to think that, as teenagers, we're in the prime of our lives and that it's all downhill from here. Thankfully, the characters of Friends are still pretty hot around age 30. It's good to know that us college-aged kids still have a good decade or so ahead of us.

10. They have time for each other

Perhaps the most hope-conveying aspect of Friends is that, even as real grown ups, the whole gang is still able to find time in their busy adult lives to hang out with their friends.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
