It's time. Finals are just about here and it is time to start studying..or to start thinking about studying..or to start thinking about the better things in life than studying. You can study tomorrow. For now, sit back and take solace in the fact that you are not alone. There are certain emotions that are inevitable when finals week hits and there are many times when the cast of Friends knew exactly how we feel.
When someone reminds you that you need to study:
No. We don't need to hear it. We know that we need to be studying and we have made the conscious decision to take a study break..a really long study break.
When we see what is on the study guide and realize we have no hope:
I swear we never went over this in class..wait.. did I go to that class? Crap.
When you can't believe that you slept through your review session:
At this point we have all lost control of our sleep cycle, and there is no way to fix it.
When the stress level reaches that high point:
We all have a breaking point, and most of us probably reached that point about three months ago.
But we still play it off like everything is OK:
Maybe if we say it enough times it will eventually be true.
And then we stuff our faces until nothing else matters:
Food is a friend who will always be there, even after we get our grades back.
When you consider other life paths:
Becoming a professional dancer is always an option.
When you actually try to study and realize that you don't know how anymore:
This isn't high school anymore..things don't make sense here the way they did back then.
When you are trying to figure out why your professor wants to ruin your life:
Is it even possible to do what they are asking? I could live in office hours and still be completely lost.
When you find someone who is as stressed as you are and you need to back away:
Sometimes we just need to understand that they are struggling too, and it's better to leave them alone.
When you get to a final and realize you have no idea what the answer is, but you try to sound smart anyway:
Partial credit is better than no credit, so we have to give it all we've got.
When it is announced that there are ten minutes left to finish, and you are still on the second question:
This is a joke, right?
When you finish you finish your exam and never look back:
We survived. Now we must get away as fast as we can!
When you realize you have done all that you can and it is time to enjoy some freedom:
It's party time! We made it through, so now it's time to enjoy ourselves!
