Ever heard the saying that the best friends you can have are the ones that want to hang out with you at 3 o'clock in the morning, totally sober, laughing at random things. These types of people are the ones that you most likely made earlier in life. Whether you like to admit it or not, in college and in high school, you have probably had some friends that are only your party friends. This means that you only hang out when there is a party. There are multiple reasons why these people that you met earlier in life will be friends for life even if you barely talk to them anymore, and here is why.
They liked you even when you were extremely ugly.
"Sorry, I peaked sophomore year of college." You had pimples everywhere. You didn't know how to put eyeliner on. Your hair was frizzy and almost impossible to brush. You loved smiling and flaunting your pearly white teeth that were covered in braces. If you didn't have braces, you were jealous of the people who did. Even though you looked like a science experiment, your friends still loved you, and they still thought you were hot.
You did stupid stuff sober.
You ran around the neighborhood constantly doing stupid stuff that didn't make sense, but that was the fun in it. The best times of going through an awkward stage were ding dong ditching the guy that would chase after you with a baseball bat. It was how you spent your weekends.
Picnic was better than Instagram filters.
Instagram sucks compared to what picnic was. Not only could you put a cool filter on your pictures, but you could write horrible quotes on them in a really weird font.
Mixers were lit.
Mixers were better than anything else we could go to. It is where you would wear the ugliest ripped up shirts and bright colored whatever you could find. When you got there, you danced with all the boys and had hand signals with your friends to tell you if a boy was ugly or not.
You have to be friends with them because they have all the ugly pictures of you.
You made faces in pictures that you didn't even know existed. They were so embarrassing, yet you still posted them on Facebook. You probably got zero likes but like twelve comments of you saying stuff like, "omg I luvvv u soo muchh!! <3," "thx grl, wanna hang today??? :)" or "sureee, txt me. Let's invite @Erin Birschbach && runn the neighborhood."
They went through your first "breakup" with you.
That first middle school breakup kills you, especially when he goes and hugs another girl. Like that isn't cool. How could he hug someone else? Good thing you had your best friends with you to help you get through the pain.
They hate the people you hate.
This is still accurate to this day. If your friend hated someone in middle school, they probably have a very good reason. You hated that person too, and you probably tee-peed their house. Odds are, you still hate that person your friend hates, even if they did nothing wrong.
They're constantly on your Timehop.
You're constantly reminded of all the embarrassing, fun moments that you had with them, and you constantly miss them. No matter how far apart you all become in life, when you all hang out again, it is like nothing has changed.
