We all know the best part about college is all the fun you have. You experience new things, make new memories, and learn more about yourself during the best years of your life. None of this would be possible without some very special people–your college best friends. But what about the besties you had before you entered your collegiate career? You know, the people you use to do everything with, all the time. Now that we’re in college we get the best of both worlds. Some people only stay connected with their college or home best friends during certain times of the year, but some best friends just will not accept that. Let me explain:
You and your home best friends are really close.
You have grown up together and could not imagine life without each other.
You graduate high school and go to different colleges.
You meet new people and eventually become close to some.
You and your new college best friends begin to do everything together.
You even do everything you did with your home best friends.
At first, your home best friends are like “who are they?
But no, big deal. You and your home best friends still keep in touch and continue your job as besties from afar.
When you go home, it's like nothing ever changed.
You realize how blessed you are to have supportive friends near and far no matter what time of the year.
Those of us who have the best of both worlds are very fortunate. We have someone to party with, a shoulder to cry on and someone to pull all-nighters with at home and school. College can be challenging for many relationships. You gain new friends and lose old ones, but those friends who stick close even when you’re far away make it all worth it.
