To My Best Friend on Her Wedding Day

I mean, words will never be able to fully express how beautiful you are in your white gown.

To My Best Friend on Her Wedding Day

Where has the time gone? It seems like yesterday we were playing on the playground, gossiping about our latest celebrity crushes, or going to the mall without a care in the world of what was to come of the future.

I will never forget the night you called me overjoyed with the notion of being not only a bride, but a wife. Actually, I remember looking at my phone and having numerous missed calls and texts from you because I was in class. I thought someone died, good thing the only thing dying was your “girlfriend status” because you became the fiancé.

I will never forget the night you asked me to be a part of your day. There we were sitting in your car and you pulled out this white box filled with sentimental gifts that I will cherish forever. I don’t know if it was the beer or the fact that you wanted me to stand up with you on your wedding day, but I have never been so excited that I burst into tears until that night.

I will never forget the night we went dress shopping. I'll be honest - it was definitely not a time that I was looking forward to because you know I am not one to dress up. But it was probably one of the best times I’ve had. It was the easiest thing in the world, and the dress is definitely something I can wear again. So thanks for not making me waste my money, but you know I would do anything for you.

I will never forget the gorgeous afternoon of your bridal shower. This day you were showered with love from your family and closest friends. Assisting you with presents was one of the best jobs you could give a girl who doesn’t know how to properly bend over in a dress, but I think I successfully figured it out. This day was the day where things finally started to feel real and were going to change for the better.

I will never forget the night of your bachelorette party. Although I have tried many times to do so. It was probably one of my favorites because it was our first night out together. It was a night filled with laughter, laughter, and more laughter. It was fun being able to let loose and hit the dance floor like we did in middle school. Thank you for going along with the theme and games throughout the night. I hope it was everything you wanted in your last night of singlehood.

I will never forget the night before your wedding. I kept on saying that this whole thing is weird. We are not old enough to be married or graduated, going on into the world of adulthood. It’s just weird and still feels weird, but I couldn’t be happier for the two of you. The rehearsal was so smooth and you can just see the love radiate from the two of you as you gazed into each other’s eyes.

I never thought that this day would come, but here we are today and may I say you are absolutely stunning. I mean, words will never be able to fully express how beautiful you are in your white gown.

You are honestly glowing with pure joy and happiness. I am so grateful that God has blessed you with the guy of your dreams. I pray that this is only the beginning of your happily ever after and that God continues to bless the both of you as you embark on this journey of life together.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
