It's almost that time again, time to weep, wail, and bemoan over the start of college. Out of those who do, many have the added burden of having friends move away to college while they stay. But, before that happens here is a short list of things that, if this is you and your best friend, you can do to make the most of the short time you have left together.

1. Go bowling.

2. Do an impromptu road trip.

3. Watch a favorite movie together.

4. Go rollerblading.

5. Hit the beach.

6. Make a list of what might be different by the time he/she comes back.

7. Traipse through the woods, but don't get lost.

8. Pull a prank on someone.

9. Make a music video of your favorite songs.

10. Go for a long bike ride and reward yourselves with ice cream.

11. Visit the nearest thrift shop and buy something for each other.

12. Play some tennis.

13. Go out for breakfast.

14. Drive to an amusement park and ride roller coasters.

15. Do a photo shoot.

16. Dress up and have a night on the town.

25. Volunteer at a homeless shelter.

26. Put on disguises and mess with people at the mall.

27. Learn a dance routine.

28. Sing karaoke and kill it.

29. Just chat about anything.

30. Watch an outdoor movie.

31. Finish a whole tub of ice cream together.

32. Sleep under the stars.

33. Play at the park like you're kids again.

34. Master origami.

35. Sit around the campfire and make S'mores.

36. Play a board game or cards.

37. Create a montage of your friendship.

38. Finish a whole gallon of chocolate milk.

39. Go blueberry picking.

40. Visit the zoo.

41. See how many balloons you two can blow up.

42. Have a water balloon fight.

43. Play black light dodge-ball.

44. Help an elderly person do their yard work.

45. Go zorbing.

46. Play truth or dare.

47. Play cards with senior citizens at a retirement home.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating.
