The court is protecting an alleged rapist and not letting Kesha out of her contract with her abuser.

If it wasn't horrific enough that Kesha had to experience a tragedy, such as sexual abuse, when asking to leave her contract with her abuser, she was told no. That's right, the court said no. On Feb. 19, 2016 after three excruciating years of not being able to produce music, Kesha's case against Dr. Luke was finally brought to court and ruled in favor of Dr. Luke saying Kesha has to finish her records promised to Sony before being able to move on to another record label. They justified this action by saying she doesn't have to have Dr. Luke as her producer, that she could have a different producer if she'd like. Kesha is pictured below crying after her hearing.

This is an incredibly sad picture the court is painting. They give her two choices: work in the same place as your abuser or give up your passion. This not only affects this beautiful soul of a human but it affects females all over the world. This is solidifying the fears many victims have. Fears that no one will believe them, that nothing will be done, and that their victim will go free. This case is setting an example of protecting rapists and sexual abusers. Victims all over the world see this case and they seal their lips and continue to live with this horrible experience.

Know this: you are not alone. Kesha is not standing alone on this. She has many people backing her. Taylor Swift recently donated $250,000 to Kesha to help buy her out of her contract. Many celebrities have taken to social media to show their support. The hashtag #freekesha has taken over Twitter with thousands of fans reminding Kesha that she is loved by so many.

I personally believe it is absolutely immorally and ethically wrong for Sony to not let her out of her contract. I understand that she has a contract but when one of their employees abuses someone, that's when the contract ends. She shouldn't have to work with a record label that sexualized her from the beginning of her career before she was even a legal adult.

She shouldn't have to make money for a record label that put her in the hands of a sexual predator. I can only speak for myself but I'm not letting this go. I will boycott Sony items and records until they decide to right the wrongs they've done. This case won't get swept under the rug. Our mouths and minds are open and we won't be silenced.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
