I've been personally working on sales and marketing, and these are notes I would like to share. Hopefully anyone interested in psychology and persuasion finds this interesting.
Frames are mental structures in which we see the world and put relationships in context. When two people cross paths, there can only be one dominant frame between two people. The stronger frame absorbs the weaker one.
No matter what happens or how much social pressure and discomfort you suffer, staying composed and try to stick to your frame. This is known as plowing. Always move forward, never stopping. Never any self-doubt; the stronger frame always wins. Also, just because you have a frame control doesn't mean that someone won't push back. You have to stay committed to your frame and keep it strong. You plow.
When the frame is set, there is no need to create drama or demands once you govern your frame. When you are reacting to the other person. That person owns the frame. When the other person is reacting to what you do and say, you own the frame.
If you would like to know more about framing, I'll be releasing more of my personal notes on the topic in future articles.
