Summer's filled with family and fun, there are also some lessons learned along the way. I have learned a lot this summer. Some of the lessons I was not intending on learning but I am glad I did!
1. New Beginnings
Everybody is so used to the norm and freaks out when something out of the ordinary occurs. There are certain situations in life that you need to get away from and start new. I have experienced this lesson this summer. I have been busy with summer classes, work, and just life in general that some things needed to change, for the better! So far its been a great experience. Everybody these days thinks that anything new is scary and they freak out. They think of the worst possible scenario and forget about the positive things that will come from their new beginning. People need to start looking on the bright side of things.
2. Life is short
You never know when your last day on earth is. It could be any minute or any day. Be sure to live your life to the fullest. Enjoy ever moment of everyday. Enjoy the people you are around and love them. Be sure to tell your loved ones how much you love and care about them to their face. They need to hear it from you. People these days think that they don't need to talk to people about how they feel about them, they can just send them a text or post a picture on Instagram to express their feelings. People need to hear nice things face to face every once in a while. People love hearing compliments and nice things.
3. Live in the moment
One of my old guard coaches in high school use to say "Live in the moment" before every competition. I never really thought about it that much then. Now that I have graduated and have one year of college under my belt I understand it better. Even though it seems like it has a simple meaning there is so much more to it. I doesn't just mean to live in the moment, it also means to enjoy what you have now because it might not be there in the future. Enjoy the place you are at in life because it only comes once. Enjoy the people you love because they might not be there later. "Live in the moment" Has a much deeper meaning than you think.
4. Cherish precious moments with those you love
One of my favorite quotes is "We didn't know we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun." - Unknown. I love this quote because it is so true. If we are spending time with those we love and having fun we make memories. We need to make as many possible memories, with those we love, that we can while on earth. You never know what might happen to those around you, especially with what has been happening in our world the past couple of months. We need to cherish and treasure the time spent with others. You never know what might happen.
