I can give you over a hundred reasons why I am going to miss college. These last few years of my life have honestly been amazing and I almost cry of the thought that it will one day it has to come to an end. The four years go by quick and you are insane if you don’t realize how great it all is. Here is a list of the things I realized; I will miss the most about college.

1) Being My Own Decision Maker

If you weren’t into studying in high school, it may be a different story in college. You choose the classes you take and who you want to become in this world. Passion for what you love leads to dedication and hard work. You truly become your own boss and choose what’s best for you.

2) Sleeping In

Never in your life will you be able to start your day in the late afternoon or even at night. I will forever miss taking my day naps before class or being able to wear pajamas to class without being judged. Once you hit the real world, sleeping in is not always an option.

3) Freedom

These are the years we transform into adulthood. Although that sounds both boring and exciting, no child or adult has the freedom we do. We have no obligations and no one hovering over us telling us what to do. We will never have the chance to travel during breaks, take random road trips, or even study aboard. You will never be more young or free than you are right now in college.

4) The Friendships

The people you meet in college, will impact your whole life. You never meet someone by mistake, everything and everyone has a reason. The friendships you make with these four years will build you as a person. These good friends laugh with you and push you to be better. You may never encounter more people with the same goals, aspirations, and interests as you. You will always remember the ones who stayed up all night with you as you panic, thinking you will fail your exam or fail out of school. The friendships you make in college will never be forgotten and will last a lifetime.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
