January was crazy... and then February comes along and brings with it a whole follow up act like none other. The month of love, heartache and mega corporations cashing in on your "emotions."
It is so easy to get get caught up in February. You are weeks out from the new years epiphany you had, you know "New Year, New Me." Slowly it morphs itself into "Forget Resolution February" or maybe "Fall in Love February" or maybe you have a different "F" word in mind.
Regardless, this February, I implore you to forget love. Well forget loving someone else. Walk calmly past the brightly colored chocolate boxes and overly plump teddy bears. Don't recite some single girl anthem in your head like you chose to be single for Lent. News flash, even Beyonce got a bae, its time to let "Single Ladies" go.
February has so much to offer you. Fall in love with yourself. Did you resolve to get healthier or work out more? If your doing it right February is when results are actually going to show. People are going to start noticing something is different with you. Did you say you were going to travel more? Save your money when it comes to overpriced chocolates and save up just enough cash to go on an adventure at the end of the month. You know what is at the end of February? Mardi Gras. You don't have to fly out to Luisiana to plan some fun things with a couple of friends. Keep working hard in school. Make this semester yours.
Love isn't created in a factory, nor is it spread on store selves. You have to love yourself before you can ask another human being to love you. That doesn't have a deadline. Figure out your future clap backs when family asks why you haven't found a "nice boy" yet. "They don't exist" probably isn't the answer. Tell gran gran that you were own Valentine this February because who else would put up with your sas anyways? Once you have bought yourself some time, one clap back at a time, you can just focus on yourself. Love your progress, or even your lack of, because that is what is going to make that "New You" that you told all your friends about. So will the memories and experiences that February brings you when you forget love this February.
