As the year is coming to a close, I would just like to thank my best friends for the best sophomore year I could have ever asked for. There is nothing more I am going to miss over the summer than our crazy late-night talks, our insane dance parties in the smallest common room known to man, and most importantly, the secondhand embarrassment for when one of us does something stupid (never anything we regret, of course). Marist has brought me unforgettable experiences and challenges, but even greater, a group of ten amazing friends who I can spend every waking moment with and never get sick of it.
Because of you all, I have someone to stuff my face with 24/7, someone who can be my wing girl, someone who can be a shoulder to cry on, and someone who I can be my wild, crazy self around. It’s the little things like listening to “All My Friends,” late-night runs to Campus Deli or P-Ridge, and even our crazy Monday nights in the dorms that will remind me of this unforgettable year. I never thought in a million years I would be friends with a group of ten girls, but we made it work. We make it work.
I swear people look at me funny when I tell them I have nine best friends at college, but I don’t think it's crazy. I have nine best friends who sometimes get on my nerves, and tell me things that I don’t want to hear, but I know they’re looking out for my best interest; yet, those same people make me laugh until I’m blue in the face and have taught me what it means to truly miss someone. Next year is another year to add to our crazy memories, whether we're at Marist holding down the fort, or studying abroad experiencing the world. Even though our time in Midrise, the place that brought us all together, is over, I know that next year starting our new chapter is going to be even better. People say that college is the best four years of your life, and after this year, I finally understand what they mean. I am more than grateful to not only experience this beautiful place I can call home, but with the people who complete it. My sisters.
