The height. The speed. The fear. The weightlessness. The rush. Roller coasters are huge attractions all over the world because of the excitement that comes with riding on them. Despite many theme parks being home to some legendary coasters, one spot takes the cake. The roller coaster capital of the world, or more commonly known as Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, is a 365-acre amusement park that boasts a long list of thrill rides. Since more than three and a half million people visited here in 2015, riders new and old have decided which coasters are worth the trip. Seven and a half hours from Philadelphia and three hours from Pittsburgh to be exact. Here are the top roller coasters at Cedar Point that keep thrill seekers coming back for more:
Millenium Force- This phenom takes you up 310 intimidating feet to bring you down an 80 degree drop, while hitting a speed of 93 miles per hour.
Magnum XL 200- With a perfect view of Canada at the top of the hill, this was the first coaster ever to top 200 feet.
GateKeeper- The tallest, fastest, and longest wing coaster in the world! A wing coaster sits riders level on the left or right the side of the track.
Top Thrill Dragster- Only 17 seconds long. But, riders shoot from zero to 120 miles per hour in less than four seconds to sit atop a whopping 420 foot hill five seconds later.
Maverick- Twist and turn on this coaster that starts with an inverted 95 degree drop.
Raptor- It all starts when you hear, "There goes the floor, you're out the door - enjoy your ride on Raptor!" Fly with your feet dangling and enduring six loops throughout the ride.
