As a food lover, I am constantly thinking about food and am looking up different dishes to try on Pinterest. Some of my favorite meals can be enjoyed to the fullest during the warm summer months.

These meals tend to be lighter and more colorful. Here are 10 foodie-licious summer meals that will make your mouth water.

1. Summer salad with strawberries and blueberries

Feta cheese, almonds, strawberries, and blueberries on a bed of spinach and arugula drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette

This classic summer salad is so dang good! It's one of the things I look forward to eating most during the warm months. It's light and delicious and you can never get enough of it!

2. Juicy bacon cheeseburger on the grill

Nothing screams summer more than throwing some juicy burgers on the grill. Burgers are one of my favorite meals, especially when there's bacon it... mmmmhhhmm. Add some tomato, cheddar cheese, and lettuce for a little more flavor.

3. Lasagna

Lasagna is a great dish to enjoy in the summer. It's not too filling and is pretty easy to make. There's a restaurant in Cape Cod that my family always gets lasagna catered from on the 4th of July. The marinara sauce they put on it is so delicious and they put sausage in the dish, which is absolutely delicious.

4. Grilled teriyaki chicken

This is one of my favorite dishes that my dad makes during the summer. The chicken is always so juicy and has a smoky taste from the grill. It's also sweet from the pineapple and teriyaki sauce.

5. Fish and chips

A classic meal to come across along the coast in the summer. The fish is always fresh and tastes delicious in a beer battered crust and dipped in ketchup. It's perfect for lunch or dinner depending on your appetite.

6. Chicken skewers with grilled corn

Chicken skewers are a light dish and are very easy to make on the grill. Pick your favorite veggies and layer them in between chunks of grilled chicken. Throw some corn on the cob on the grill as well and you've got yourself a delicious meal!

7. Shrimp scampi with linguine

This is one of my all-time favorite meals. I especially love it in the summer when the shrimp is really fresh. Topped with a garlicky and buttery sauce and some fresh herbs, this meal makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

8. Chili

Chili is one of my favorite meals to eat in the winter when it's really cold outside. But have you ever craved a nice bowl of chilly in the summer? I swear it tastes even better on a cool summer night. Topped with melted cheese and sour cream, this meal can be enjoyed any time of the year.

9. Tortellini pasta salad

Pasta salads are definitely a popular meal choice in the summer. My personal favorite is tortellini pasta salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and feta cheese drizzled with Italian dressing.

10. Steamed lobster

A widely enjoyed seafood dish often soaked in melted butter. If you live near the water, you can get lobster really fresh from the local seafood pound.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
