Whether Coach Taylor tells it like it is or Matt and Landry are dishing up some jokes, there's always some kind of relatable line in Friday Night Lights. In honor of the show's recent 10th anniversary, I've rounded up my own top 10 lines. There's hope, hurt and a whole lot of heart - which is why these are some of the best moments from the series.
The short n' sweet line from Tim Riggins:
Beer is optional, but this line is not. Texas Forever symbolized the strong community bond that everyone had in that small town of Dillon.
Landry's hilarious one-liners:
You could always count on Landry to utter hilarity like this. Plus his random comments in conversations with Matt made it one of the best friendships/bromances on television.
When Tyra's essay got really real:
I remember watching this episode for the first time in my senior year of high school, and I almost cried myself at this raw explanation of what college represented for her. It was a universal message about how doing something new can really change you for the better.
When Matt broke down after his dad died:
Poor Matt. He was one of the most loveable characters on the show, so when he hurt, everyone else did too.
When Julie did the same thing that a lot of us do:
Isn't there a quote that goes: "Comparison is the thief of joy" or something along those lines? If so, this line from Julie exemplified that.
Tami Taylor being a badass:
Leave to Tami to be the one to tell Tim Riggins to get his sh*t together. You go, Tami.
When Lyla asked a question we've all asked at one point in time:
She started out as the quintessential "good girl", but then along the way made some mistakes that showed that she's not perfect -- she's human.
Tim back at it again:
Short, sweet and to the point.
Same goes for Tami:
"Just ask my husband" is what follows that statement, and it just goes to show that their relationship was one full of humor, love and grace.
And of course, everyone's favorite motto:
If you didn't use this at some point in time for your own life, you're missing out. It summed up the show at its core: eyes open, hearts bright and you can't lose in the bigger game called life.
