An ode to study abroad.

Country hopping

Boutique Shopping

Days you long for

Hoping to travel more and more

Plane fares, hotels and such

The prices get to be so much.

But, oh, if I could, I would do it all again

For I long for those trips that seemingly never end.

What I would give to travel the world,

To live in France and get my hair snipped and curled.

Or maybe in Spain

Where life takes no strain!

A day in England,

Sipping tea by the river's bend!

Even Dubai,

Not letting life just pass me by!

Egypt, China, Mexico,

Where I'll end up, not even I know!

Africa, Denmark, Kalamazoo;

I'll travel the world, the oceans too!

Smiling, laughing, flying away,

Lord only knows how long I will stay!

From the hills of Dublin to the streets of Bel Air,

Fluttering about going here and there.

Often when I close my eyes,

I dream of the lands of foreign lullabies.

And when I awake

I promise myself that I will take

Me, myself and I to travel.

I don't need a house of stone for all to marvel.

Trust me, dear, life is short!

Don't waste your life hooked on a mistake of a sort,

Go out into the world go ahead and see.

All that it has for you to be

It is all at your fingertips,

Waiting to be gripped.

India, Hawaii, and even Turkey,

I'll find a way to pay those fees!

I want to see it all,

From the Ivory Coast to the National Mall.

If I find my self to be in only Sicily,

I'll be happy as a clam under the sea.

Australia, Tokyo, and Lebanon

The list of places to travel goes on and on

A life in Portugal or maybe Greece,

Learning of the cultures piece by piece.

Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Jordan

My soul has a passion that cannot be locked by a warden

I'll journey near and far

Not a care in the world my soul can't be scarred

Oh what a joy it would be

To travel the world and every open sea!

Being Invisible The Best Super Power

The best superpower ever? Being invisible of course. Imagine just being able to go from seen to unseen on a dime. Who wouldn't want to have the opportunity to be invisible? Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
