A national social network officially launched at Florida State on Monday, Sept. 15. The FSU chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority hosted the founders of LUV4wrd – which encourages users to create, capture and share moments of love – at an event to introduce the new app.
A dedicated forum for sharing positive, uplifting messages, LUV4wrd provides a platform for users to make posts – called LUVs – that demonstrate ways love has the power to make a difference in the world. LUVs may include posts that show acts of kindness, special times with family or friends, thoughtful quotes and other examples of love in action.
As part of the launch, the sorority members are participating in a campaign for “40 days of LUV” to raise funds for and awareness of the Florida Guardian ad Litem program, which benefits abused and neglected children in the state. For each LUV sorority members post, LUV4wrd and local businesses will pledge a monetary donation to Guardian ad Litem.
