So your best friend just called you and told you that she got engaged, now what?

Here are the five best things to do for your best friend when she gets engaged:

1. Celebrate with her

Your best friend is getting married, this calls for celebration starting from today all the way until her wedding day. Take her out to happy hour, get some drinks and let the party begin.

2. Buy her an engagement gift

It doesn't have to be anything large or super nice. But get her a little basket with some bridal magazines, a bottle of champagne, a ring holder, her favorite candy and a cute card. Getting her this gift will show how excited you are for her and it's such a sweet gesture.

3. Help her start planning.

Now there are going to be some bride-to-be's who don't want to start planning right away and that's totally okay. For those who do, having someone to bounce those first ideas off of, instead of her fiance, is the best thing.

4. Be there for her

Getting engaged is the first step in wedding planning and being prepared for the phone calls and texts, worrying about a wedding, will be coming. As a shoulder to cry on when she has that realization that she is actually getting married or as someone who just listens to her crazy wedding ideas.

5. Give her some space

Let her celebrate with her now fiance and bask in the moment of being engaged!


Your best friend getting engaged is such a fun experience and calls for lots of champagne. Which, who could complain about more champagne in life?
