5 Things Every Cat Person Can Relate To

Cats are the best.

Cats are the best. They are cute, sweet and fluffy (sometimes). If you have a cat, love your cat, and your cat just means the world to you, you can probably relate to this list.

1. There's cat hair everywhere

You may not even notice it anymore, but there is cat hair on everything. People who don't have cats do not vacuum as much as you do. Your favorite black leggings are not so black anymore. Your shoes have hair lining them, but you have no idea how that happens because they've been in your closet since last winter. You wash your hands and start cooking, but once your food is done you take a big bite and a single cat hair has gotten in your food. You take it out and eat the food anyway because it happens at least once a day and there is seemingly no avoiding it.

2. Careful where you step

Cats like to sleep in strange places, like in the middle of the stairs, in boxes or under the couch with their tail sticking out just enough to be stepped on. Watch where you step because there are few things worse than accidentally hurting your pet. They will be mad just long enough to make you feel horrible, and you better have a bag of kitty treats to make up for this.

3. You both have attitude problems

Cats can be just as grumpy as you. Neither of you like having company for too long. When guests come over your cat will hide, and you might not see them again until your guests leave. You probably feel the same way. You also get attitude when you're hungry-- don't forget to feed the cat!

4. People are the worst

You and your cat will agree on this. When the world treats you rough and everyone annoys you, your cat is at home taking a nap. Go home and tell your cat what's up-- you are your cat's person.

5. Treat them right

Cats don't live forever. Every day of theirs is worth a little more than one of yours because they have less of them. Don't leave your cat alone for a week in your house with enough food to barely get by and no one to clean up after them. They need you to be there for them. They're not as demanding as dogs, but they depend on you for their happiness. They wait for you to come home no matter how long you're gone, and they love it when you finally come spend time with them. Treat them right.

Cats are truly the best. They may have attitude problems and they may leave their hair everywhere, but they are 100% devoted and sweet little animals.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
