Are you artistically inclined? Are you patient when it comes to graphic design? Do you know exactly how to scale items in order for the type of product you want to create? If the answer to any of those questions is no, I have five reasons you need to start using Canva.

1. So. Many. Templates.

You can literally find a template someone made for just about any theme or thing you decide to create. They have so many that you're bound to find one that you're looking for. It's fun too, seeing what you can create when you already have a template as a starting point.

2. It's user friendly.

Sometimes (most of the time), Photoshop can be hard to use. It can be touchy, and it isn't necessarily user friendly. It will also take years to figure out on your own. Canva comes with a quick and easy thirty second tutorial, but even if you skip it, it's quick to understand.

3. They already have graphics, too.

BUT, if there's a graphic or image you seriously need to use, it lets you upload them within thirty seconds.

4. It always looks put together.

You don't have to worry about spending hours on a flyer that might come out looking like a toddler made it just not looking right. With Canva, it all ends up looking cohesive even if you do not have any skill in matching typeface with pictures or themes.

5. It's free!

Well, most of it is. You DO have to pay for certain materials if you want specific images or if you want to use some of the really nice templates, but you can do so much without paying a penny.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
