Dear humans,
Some of you are crazy cat people. And okay, that’s cool and all, but with all do respect, dogs are the way better species with even more positive characteristics. But, we all know this. Next question.
Now for those of you that are blessed with the best and have a special canine in your life, maybe even two or three, you know how treasured dogs are to humans. People haven’t simply nicknamed dogs as man’s best friend because it sounds nice. No, there are multiple reasons that this title was given to them, and here are are five that show why dogs are the best thing since sliced bread, maybe even better:
1.They are known to be amazing BFFs (Best Furry Friends): Bad day at work or school? No problem, I will greet you at the door wagging my tail a hundred times a minute until you cannot help but smile. Bad breakup or fight with human best friend? Let’s cuddle in bed all day and only get up for more treats, more wine and more ice cream. Bad anything? I got this. You are my human, and I will stop at nothing to make you happy until I hear “that’s a good boy” or “I love you” and get kisses and a belly rub.
2. Your pup just gets you: Somehow dogs have this crazy sense about who their owner is and the way their owner is feeling. Some dogs have even been trained to recognize when their human may have a seizure or is low on blood sugar. When this happens, they know exactly how to save said human and protect him or her from any danger. How cool is that? So ultimately, dogs are there for you when the going get ruff (get it?) and also when everything cannot be more perfect. They are always by your side no matter what may happen.
3. They keep you young: Dogs need exercise. So you must take them for their walks, throw their frisbee, play fetch, etc. etc. Therefore, exercise is beneficial for both you and your dog. It is refreshing and aids in good health for the two of you. Also, with all the fun and playful energy dogs emit, it’s infectious not to be happy and light-hearted around your canine companion, which in turn keeps you young, as well. As they run around and around in a figure eight in the living room or chase their tails in a circle, you cannot help but feel a sense of youth and enjoyment from their simple entertainment.
4. Dogs are better than any alarm clock or system invented: One of the biggest responsibilities a dog feels they need to uphold is the protection of their person or pack. One wrong look from a passerby or maybe even a break-in and your dog will stop at nothing to protect you and his or her family. Also, the second responsibility a dog feels they need to maintain, and honestly I think we could do away with this one, but you do you pup, is to be your morning wake up call. Whether it is licks on your face, jumping on your bed or whining until you flicker your eyes open, your dog is the best alarm clock there is.
5. Unconditional love: Their love knows no limit. No matter who you are, what you are, where you are or how old you are, your dog doesn’t care. All they care about is YOU. They love you for whatever you are and are bound to your soul. You are your dog’s whole world, who else can you say that about? Dogs are the greatest creatures on this planet, and if you’re lucky to share a relationship with one, count your blessings.
