It seems as if it is almost impossible to maintain a clear complexion during the summer time. With scorching temperatures, and high humidity, it is a constant struggle for girls with oily skin. After experiencing this first hand, I have tried almost every product under the sun from topical treatments to antibiotics, including Accutane. Have no fear! Luckily, I have found products that work. Now no one has to deal with that unwanted and unattractive, greasy, acne filled skin during the summer time (or should I say year round)!

1) Acne Eliminating Pads- Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare

Made with L-Carnitine Clarifying Complex, this daily acne treatment helps fight the five characteristics of all breakouts- an unhealthy oil balance, blocked pores, bacteria, dead skin cell buildup and inflammation (dgskincare.com). After using these pads, I immediately saw a difference. After one day my skin was smoother, less inflamed and looked healthier overall. I have been using these pads for almost a month now and my skin has never looked better! These pads are a miracle worker!

2) Tazorac Cream

Hopeless after seeing my acne reappear only months after I finished Accutane, my dermatologist gave me a prescription for Tazorac. Although it is over the counter, this cream does wonders for my face. It is good for single spots as it dries up the blemish and reduces irritation, redness and size. This cream is made of retinoids, which are known for banishing acne (tazorac.com).

3) All-in-One Cleanser- Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare

I have tried thousands of different face cleansers. After using Dr. Dennis Gross’s All in One Cleanser, I will never have to search again. This anti-inflammatory foam cleanser is made with antioxidants to penetrate pores and eradicate excess oil and bacteria (dgskincare.com). My skin has never looked so radiant and refreshed—no wonder why it is an Allure Magazine Best of Beauty award winner! I love this cleanser and it deserves to win every award there is.

4) EradiKate Acne Treatment- Kate Somerville

Since I am allergic to Benzoyl Peroxide, it is often difficult to find acne-fighting products that I can use. This acne treatment is made with Sulfur, which is a proven acne eliminator that treats existing blemishes, and keeps new ones from emerging. It also uses Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA’s), which are used to reduce enlarged pores (katesomerville.com). This product has drastically reduced the redness of my face that is caused by breakouts.

5) Clarifying Colloidal Sulfur Mask- Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare

One last item that I must rave about! If you need an emergency treatment for that stubborn blemish, this is the product for you. This mask absorbs excess oil and bacteria to reduce pore size and minimize blackheads. If you apply a thin layer to the affected area and leave it on overnight, you are golden. Say goodbye to that blemish that you have been trying to get rid of for days! When you wake up in the morning, it will be gone. When I used this mask for the first time, I could not even believe it when I looked in the mirror and my pimple was basically gone. This product is a must and will get rid of that stubborn blemish in no time! (dgskincare.com)

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
